The Story

A long time ago, but still within living memory, some good folk gathered to hear and tell stories for the delight of adults. At first, they met in an all night cafe but later decamped. Over the years, the story venues varied from a church hall to a heritage house.

Now, story listeners and tellers meet at 1805 Larch Street in Kitsilano. The intersection is with 2nd Avenue and entrance is via the alley off St Marks.

The hall is wheelchair accessible.

Storytelling happens on the 3rd Sunday, September-May. 7- 9 pm with featured tellers and Open Mike for newcomers.

Charge is $7, pay at the door.

The Tradition of the Scottish Travellers is that stories are told eye to eye, mind to mind and heart to heart.

In keeping with this tradition, our stories are told from memory. Our featured performers tell eye to eye with the story listeners, engaging their minds and hearts to the delight of all.
