By the Tradition of the Scottish Travellers: stories are told eye to eye; mind to mind; heart to heart.
In keeping with this tradition, our stories are told from memory.
Almost 50 years ago, folk gathered to hear and tell stories for the delight of adults. At first, they met in a cafe but later they decamped to a larger venue. Over the years, the storytelling has moved to accommodate the listeners.
Story listeners now meet at the Centre for Peace:1825 West 16th Avenue; the intersection is Burrard. Bus #33. Parking is available on site and on the street. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
The Story Today
On the 4th Friday of the month from September to May inclusive, we meet from 7 – 9 pm. The format is 3 featured tellers followed by an open Story Circle for 5 minute stories. Strict time keeping ensures a maximum of 5 minutes. The evening concludes with mix & mingle over tea and treats. All inclusive price: $7 at the door.
Do come. Listen! Laugh! Enjoy! My pleasure to see you there.
